Arnold & Porter Elects Five Counsel
WASHINGTON, D.C., April 1, 2014 -- Arnold & Porter LLP announced today that it has elected five new counsel to the firm.
Stefanie Alfonso-Frank is a member of the firm’s Telecommunications, Internet, and Media practice in Washington, D.C. She provides regulatory, transactional, and litigation counseling to telecommunications clients. Ms. Alfonso-Frank assists clients in all aspects of communications-related transactions. She advocates clients' positions before the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), advises clients regarding compliance with federal, state, and local rules and regulations, and assists with rulemakings, license applications, and petitions to the FCC. Prior to joining Arnold & Porter, Ms. Alfonso-Frank was a judicial clerk for the Hon. Daniel M. Friedman of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Ms. Alfonso-Frank earned a J.D. from The George Washington University Law School where she graduated first in her class and received the John Bell Larner Award for attaining the highest cumulative average. She also served as notes editor of The George Washington University Law Review. Ms. Alfonso-Frank received her B.A., cum laude, from Tufts University.
Kevin Cline is a member of the firm’s Product Liability Group in Washington, D.C., where his practice focuses on complex product liability and mass tort litigation. He represents major pharmaceutical companies in defending against product liability claims in state and federal court. Mr. Cline is involved in all aspects of this litigation, including coordination of numerous defense counsel, discovery, development of fact and expert witnesses, and preparation of cases for trial. He also represents clients on matters related to potential and on-going federal and state government investigations related to marketing and promotional activities. Before joining Arnold & Porter, Mr. Cline served as a law clerk to the Honorable Deborah K. Chasanow of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. Mr. Cline earned his J.D., with honors, from the University of Maryland School of Law, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif and served as senior articles editor of The Business Lawyer and member of the Moot Court Board. He also served as a representative of the law school on the University Student Government Association. Mr. Cline received both a M.A. and B.A. from North Carolina State University.
David Fauvre is a litigator and counselor with a varied practice that includes complex commercial litigation, white-collar criminal defense matters, and business and political law counseling. Mr. Fauvre, a member of the firm’s Business Litigation group in Washington, D.C., has experience representing companies and individuals in criminal investigations and state attorney general actions with a particular focus on representing companies in the pharmaceutical industry. He has experience litigating qui tam actions under the False Claims Act, antitrust cases, securities fraud actions, commercial disputes including breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty claims, and complex multidistrict and appellate matters. Mr. Fauvre conducts internal investigations arising out of government enforcement actions and has experience representing clients in federal grand jury proceedings, congressional investigations and other agency enforcement actions. Mr. Fauvre has represented clients in disputes regarding intellectual property rights and in obtaining and negotiating publishing contracts. Mr. Fauvre earned his J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center and received a B.A. from Brown University.
Jake Marshall is a solicitor and a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Group in London. Mr. Marshall focuses his practice on transactional matters relating to intellectual property, technology, and media, and he acts for clients across a range of sectors including media and entertainment, pharmaceutical, software/technology, fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) and retail. His work includes drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, advising on the intellectual property/information technology aspects of transactions and advising on matters relating to advertising and marketing, data protection and e-commerce. In addition to his work in private practice, Mr. Marshall has spent time in-house on secondment to iris (a global integrated marketing agency), National Air Traffic Services, John Lewis (a major UK retailer), GlaxoSmithKline and Gilead. Mr. Marshall has an LLB in European Law from the University of Warwick, and a diploma in Intellectual Property law and practice from the University of Bristol.
Sara Zogg is a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Group in Washington, D.C. Ms. Zogg focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation in various industries, including medical devices, life science technologies, and computer technologies. She has represented clients in California, Washington, D.C., Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Texas, Wisconsin, and elsewhere in cases involving contract disputes, patent infringement, price discrimination, franchise law violations, environmental cost recovery, and various other claims under federal and state laws. Ms. Zogg earned a J.D., cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University and received a B.S. from the United States Naval Academy.
