Meghan Martin is a member of the firm’s eData and Litigation groups. Her litigation practice is primarily focused on the discovery phase of complex civil litigation in both state and federal courts as well as government investigations. Meghan has significant experience in all phases of discovery including managing large-scale document reviews and production, formulating discovery strategy, coordinating discovery in nationwide litigation, defending privileged documents in challenges in state and federal courts.
Meghan has extensive experience in managing teams of attorneys, legal assistants, litigation technology project managers, and other e-discovery professionals through each stage of the discovery process from preservation to production in a wide array of cases, including large-scale civil and criminal government investigations, product liability litigation, antitrust matters, class action, and commercial disputes. In 2022, Meghan was awarded the Certified E-Discovery Specialist (CEDS) designation. Her experience has encompassed all phases of complex civil litigation, including discovery, motions practice, trial preparation and support, and appellate review.
Meghan has a strong commitment to pro bono service and maintains an active pro bono practice. She has represented clients in immigration and family court matters. She has acted as special victim's counsel to sexual assault survivors in military court proceedings. She was a member of the trial team that successfully protected national park resources from commercial development. She represented James A. Dennis, for 17 years, in both state and federal habeas proceedings that ultimately ended with the Third Circuit sitting en banc granting habeas relief and overturning Mr. Dennis' conviction and death sentence. Dennis v. Sec'y, PA Dep't of Corrs., 834 F.3d 263 (3d Cir. 2016) (en banc). Most recently, she successfully represented Planned Parenthood as part of the trial team in litigation against extremists who fraudulently and illegally created and released videotapes intended to smear and destroy the organization.
Experience
- Represented an aircraft manufacturer in collecting and producing French documents. Ms. Martin managed a team of 50 contract attorneys on multiple workflows and oversaw successful production of hundreds of thousands of documents.
- Represented a pharmaceutical company in its productions of documents and privilege logs in antitrust and bankruptcy proceedings in federal and state courts.
- Represented a biotech company in collecting and producing documents. Ms. Martin managed two separate teams of 50 contract attorneys on multiple workflows and oversaw successful collection and ultimate production of millions of pages of documents.
