Seasoned International Arbitration Lawyer Patricio Grané Labat Rejoins Arnold & Porter
Arnold & Porter LLP announced today that Patricio Grané Labat has rejoined the firm as a partner in the International Arbitration practice. Mr. Grané, who was counsel at Arnold & Porter from 2009-2013, will reside in the firm's London office.
Mr. Grané brings more than two decades of experience in investment arbitration, commercial arbitration, international trade, and public international law. He represents sovereign States and private parties in international dispute resolution proceedings, including investment arbitration and trade disputes under the World Trade Organization (WTO) rules. He also has significant experience representing sovereign States in a host of areas of public international law, including state responsibility, treaty law, use of force, and international humanitarian law. He has handled cases on jurisdictional immunities and diplomatic protection, including in the context of judicial proceedings before European courts. He also counsels clients on multilateral trade issues. Mr. Grané has unique insight and experience working with government officials, in particular from Latin American States.
Prior to entering private practice in 2001, Mr. Grané served as a trade diplomat and negotiator for a Latin American country in Geneva, Switzerland. Most recently, he was a partner in private practice at a firm dedicated to public international law.

Mr. Grané has been appointed by sovereign States to the roster of arbitrators and panelists for the settlement of international trade and commercial disputes under bilateral and multilateral treaties.

Mr. Grané has an LLM from Georgetown University Law Center, with distinction. He also holds a degree from the University of Costa Rica Law School.
