White Collar and Government Investigations Duo Craig Margolis and Tirzah Lollar Joins Arnold & Porter in Washington, DC

WASHINGTON, DC, May 29, 2018 — Arnold & Porter announced today that Craig D. Margolis and Tirzah S. Lollar have joined the firm's White Collar Defense and Government Contracts practices as partners, and will reside in the firm's Washington, DC office. Their extensive experience handling False Claims Act matters will add further depth to Arnold & Porter's capabilities in this area.

Craig MargolisMr. Margolis focuses his practice on the investigation and defense of False Claims Act (FCA) matters, government contracts procurement fraud, health care fraud, tax and securities fraud, political corruption, and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. He has served as lead counsel in numerous investigations, white collar criminal prosecutions, and dozens of FCA cases across a range of industries. Following law school, Mr. Margolis clerked for the Honorable Patti B. Saris of the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Subsequently, he was an Assistant US Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania from 1999 – 2004, where he prosecuted Medicare/Medicaid and private payer health care fraud and abuse, identity theft, tax fraud, and labor organization embezzlement, among other matters. In 2004, Mr. Margolis moved to private practice. He has been recognized for his accomplishments in Chambers USA, Legal 500, the Financial Times, Best Lawyers, Washington DC Super Lawyers, Who's Who Legal, and Corporate Counsel, and was most recently named to Law360's 2017 Government Contracts MVPs list. Mr. Margolis earned his JD from Yale Law School, where he was the Notes Editor of the Yale Law Journal. He received his AB, with highest distinction, from the University of Michigan.

Tirzah LollarMs. Lollar represents clients on matters pertaining to FCA defense, white collar criminal defense and government investigations, including trial and grand jury work. She has defended clients in government investigations and other proceedings related to the FCA, government contracts and procurement fraud, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and similar global anti-corruption legislation, tax fraud, and antitrust offenses. Ms. Lollar was named to Law360's 2016 Rising Stars list in Government Contracts, and has been recognized in the Financial Times and Washington DC Super Lawyers. She earned her JD from the University of Virginia School of Law, where she was a member of the Virginia Tax Review. She received her BA from the University of Virginia. Ms. Lollar clerked for the Honorable James C. Cacheris, US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, Alexandria Division from 2004 – 2005.
