The Lawyer Highlights Career of London Office Head Kathleen Harris

Arnold & Porter partner Kathleen Harris, who heads the firm's London office and co-chairs the firm's Anti-Corruption practice, was featured by The Lawyer following the release of its 2021 "Hot 100" list. The annual list celebrates the "excellence" and "relevance" of the top London-based attorneys who make the legal profession "more sophisticated, more innovative, more diverse, [and] more fair."

In a recent Q&A with the publication, Harris reflected on her time as a pupil, wise advice that helped her persevere, and influential figures she met during her career. While commending the mentors and professionals that helped shape her "professional journey" Harris noted that "there were people that supported me in those early years who probably wouldn't at the time have been recognized for supporting diversity." She noted that "their guidance and wisdom made me the practitioner that I am."

Looking forward, Harris also encouraged aspiring lawyers and those hoping to trailblaze in their field to "always work hard, jump over the hurdles and focus on being happy in yourself." She noted that this advice, along with setting clear and realistic expectations, will help individuals become "the very best practitioner you can be."
