National Defense Authorization Act for FY 2014 Signals Coming Changes to Defense Personnel Security Programs

This year, the defense and intelligence communities must address a number of statutorily mandated changes in the procedures for granting and maintaining national security personnel clearances. At the end of December 2013, Congress passed and the President signed into law the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2014. Section 907 of the NDAA requires that the Department of Defense consider and report on possible improvements to the personnel security programs covering both federal employees and defense contractors.
