Korea

Globally recognized Korean-American lawyer Sukhan Kim established our Korea practice in 1981, making the firm one of the first US law firms to have a practice dedicated to Korea-related issues. The firm continues to lead the charge today with a well-established team of lawyers and other professionals focused on handling disputes and policy matters between Korean, US, and international governments and private entities.

Our team members have represented many of Korea's largest companies, covering a vast array of industries, including electronics, steel, construction, petrochemicals, and financial services, just to name a few, in legal proceedings around the world. Our team members have also represented various Korean governmental and quasi-governmental entities in bilateral and multilateral negotiations and disputes, and have assisted foreign companies overcome their business and political challenges in Korea, while navigating Korea's regulatory landscape.

Our team is also uniquely positioned to help clients take advantage of new opportunities within and beyond Korea. The recent Korea-US Free Trade Agreement, the EU-Korea Free Trade Agreement, and the FTAs that Korea has signed with 45 countries including ASEAN, the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), India, and Peru have made this an exciting market, but one with a wealth of new and volatile legal and business challenges. We provide sophisticated counsel to both Korean and international clients, and we develop strategic solutions to complex legal and business issues.
