June 22, 2016
Kaye Scholer LLP
250 West 55th Street
New York, NY

Kaye Scholer will host a “Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) Seminar: What US Investment Managers Need to Know About the World’s Largest Tax Project and its Impact on US and Global Investment Fund Structures” at its New York office on June 22, 2016.  The seminar will feature a summary presentation and panel discussion regarding the impact of the final BEPS initiatives on investment management firms and investment funds.

Topics:

  • Key BEPS measures impacting US and global investment management and fund structures (including private equity, hedge, infrastructure, aviation and debt funds)
  • Status of implementation of these measures in the United Kingdom and popular fund jurisdictions
  • Related US tax measures and recent developments
  • Discussion of concrete examples of how funds are impacted by BEPS
  • Steps to be taken by fund sponsors in response to BEPS generally

Awareness of BEPS initiatives, which are being implemented or otherwise addressed by tax authorities around the world, is critical to funds managers. These developments may increase taxes and will complicate tax structuring for multinationals, including funds operating on a multijurisdictional basis.

Panelists:

Stephen Culhane, partner, Corporate, US

Daniel J. Hartnett, partner, Finance, US

Daniel Lewin, partner, Tax & Private Clients, UK

Willys H. Schneider, special counsel, Tax & Private Clients, US

CLE will be awarded for New York, Illinois and California.
