Miroslav Georgiev specializes in all aspects of EU and German competition law, as well as global Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) reviews.
Miroslav joined the firm's Brussels competition team in 2025. Before that, he spent five years at leading international law firms in Brussels and Cologne (Germany), focusing on merger control, FDI screening proceedings, and EU litigation. He completed his legal clerkship (Referendariat) in Germany, with placements at the Malaysian-German Chamber of Commerce in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), a Magic Circle law firm in Düsseldorf (Germany), and an international law firm in Auckland (New Zealand). At Duke Law School, Miroslav was awarded the Justin Miller LL.M. Award for Leadership and Community Participation.
As a lawyer, Miroslav advised an international IT conglomerate on the acquisition of a direct competitor before the European Commission. He also represented an international waste management company in securing conditional clearance for the acquisition of a German mid-sized company in Phase II proceedings before the German Federal Cartel Office. In FDI proceedings, he has advised multiple clients on transactions before national authorities across Europe, most notably successfully negotiating the conditional clearance of two separate acquisitions of German defense manufacturers.
