Javier Ortega Alvarez's practice focuses on antitrust and competition law, including counseling and assisting clients with complex civil antitrust litigation, filing obligations under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act, government review of mergers, and government civil and criminal investigations. Javier’s litigation experience includes research and drafting of dispositive motions, responding to written discovery and discovery-related motions, depositions, mediation and settlement negotiations, and assisting at trial. Prior to joining the firm, Javier worked in the New York State Office of the Attorney General, Antitrust Bureau, where he assisted in all aspects of litigation while representing the People of New York in a merger dispute. Additionally, Javier worked in-house at a major technology company based in California where he handled complex civil antitrust litigation, complex civil consumer protection and construction litigation, and government civil investigations.

Javier maintains an active pro-bono practice primarily focused on access to education, the arts, and issues affecting minorities.
