Dean Porter concentrates his practice on consumer product litigation and regulatory compliance. Dean litigates complex commercial cases, including class action defense, product liability, commercial contract disputes, and business torts. He has extensive experience litigating claims of consumer deception, including those brought in state and federal courts under state consumer protection statutes. He also advises clients on regulatory compliance, marketing, and advertising in the food and beverage, cosmetics, and consumer products industries.
Dean also maintains a robust pro bono practice, and has guided multiple asylum seekers through proceedings with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services and Executive Office for Immigration Review.
Dean earned his J.D. from the Fordham University School of Law, where he was a staff editor of the Fordham Journal of Corporate and Financial Law and recipient of the Fordham University Public Interest Resource Council's 2016 Student Leader of the Year and Archibald R. Murray Excellence in Public Service awards. Dean earned his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude with honors, from the Ohio State University.
