Freeman Quoted in Financial Times on Coinbase Exchange Platform Regulation

Arnold & Porter partner David F. Freeman, Jr., who heads the firm's Financial Services practice group, was quoted in a recent article from the Financial Times discussing increased SEC regulations for cryptocurrency trading platforms. Freeman comments on the SEC’s use of “regulation by enforcement” to address open regulatory issues in cryptocurrency and the potential for a more considered result by use of a formal process that includes public comment and written guidance or rulemaking from the SEC for interpreting how the securities law apply to new digital instruments and transactions.
