Best Lawyers Profiles Frankle as "Lawyer of the Year"

November 28, 2016

Best Lawyers featured Corporate special counsel Diane Frankle in its "Lawyers of the Year" 2017 supplement, recognizing her distinct accomplishments in Northern California for Corporate and Governance Law, including decades of client service in M&A deals.

During her interview with Best Lawyers, Frankle commented: "I had realized before moving to California that I got more enjoyment out of solving problems and getting people to talk to each other constructively." Over time, she acquired diverse knowledge in advising public companies, technology startups and companies in the health care field on M&A and other corporate board-related matters.

"I've practiced with all kinds of technology companies: from life science, biotech and specialty pharma companies to software, hardware, internet and semiconductor companies and more," Frankle noted.

"Board directors at these companies don't want to hear case citations—they want to hear practical advice. So the way my practice has evolved, and what is different about me, is that I'm known for being very plain-spoken and direct."

Frankle is based out of the firm's Silicon Valley office and represents publicly traded and privately held companies engaged in a wide variety of US and cross-border mergers, acquisitions, strategic alliances and joint ventures. Over the last 25 years she has completed more than 100 M&A deals with a total value exceeding $12 billion. Her focus clients include companies in the technology, life sciences and health care industries, including those in software, internet security, storage, biotech, medical device, semiconductor, pharmaceutical and other sectors.
