The Legal 500 EMEA 2021 Recognizes Arnold & Porter's Brussels Competition Capabilities

The 2021 edition of The Legal 500 Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) highlighted Arnold & Porter's international competition work. The Legal 500 EMEA provides coverage of leading law firms and lawyers in more than 80 countries to provide annually benchmarked coverage of the legal industry.

The 2021 guide specially commended Arnold & Porter's competition work in the Belgium jurisdiction and highlighted the capabilities of Brussels-based attorneys Niels Ersbøll, Axel Gutermuth, Charlotte Simphal and Athanasia Gavala. The guide underscored the Arnold & Porter team's work on high-profile competition matters, including advising Fitbit, Inc. on its $2.1 billion sale to Google and serving as lead antitrust counsel for Pfizer in connection with the combination of Upjohn and Mylan that resulted in a new global pharmaceutical company, Viatris. Both matters were also shortlisted for Global Competition Review's 2021 GCR Awards, where Axel Gutermuth was also shortlisted for the prestigious "Lawyer of the Year" accolade.
