FAR Council Extends Public Comment Period Regarding Proposed Anti-Human Trafficking Regulations

The Federal Acquisition Regulatory (FAR) Council has extended the time for public comment on a new proposed rule placing significant new responsibility on contractors and subcontractors to act affirmatively to prevent human trafficking and forced labor. The original deadline for comments had been Monday, November 25, 2013. The new deadline is Friday, December 20, 2013. In light of the extension of comments on the FAR rule, the DFARS practice has been to be flexible on the timely submission of comments.
