Legal Technology Advisor

Arnold & Porter seeks a Legal Technology Advisor to support innovation across the Firm’s practices. This role may be based in New York or Washington, DC (hybrid) or fully remote in a firm-approved U.S. state.

The Legal Technology Advisor evaluates, designs, and implements technology-driven solutions that enhance legal service delivery. Acting as a product designer, consultant, and project manager, the Advisor partners with attorneys and business teams to identify opportunities, prototype solutions, and deliver measurable improvements.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities to improve legal service delivery through process optimization, project management, and technology solutions.
  • Lead initiatives end-to-end, from concept and requirements gathering through solution evaluation, selection, and implementation.
  • Serve as a liaison between attorneys, practice groups, Legal Technology, IT, and other stakeholders.
  • Support the evaluation, implementation, and adoption of emerging generative AI tools as they are introduced to the firm’s legal technology portfolio
  • Analyze workflows and business needs; translate them into functional requirements, use cases, and solution designs.
  • Assess existing enterprise tools and determine whether they can be enhanced or adapted.
  • Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to define technical vision and balance usability, performance, and business needs.
  • Build trusted relationships with practice leaders to promote innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Stay current on emerging legal technologies and industry trends.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience; prior experience in a law firm, corporate legal department, or legal services environment preferred.
  • At least three years of related experience with increasing responsibility.
  • Demonstrated project management and client-facing consulting experience.
  • Strong understanding of legal workflows and the evolving legal technology landscape.
  • Proven ability to develop business-driven ideas and bring them to completion.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for legal audiences.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills; able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with knowledge management or legal innovation initiatives preferred.
  • Familiarity with legal technology tools such as HighQ, Litera (Contract Companion/Create), Kira, Jigsaw, Exhibit Manager, OnCue, or similar platforms.
  • Understanding of generative AI tools, including general-purpose platforms and legal-specific applications, with an interest in exploring their practical use in legal workflows.
  • Experience with relational databases and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

 

The anticipated base salary for this position is $120,000 to $160,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
