Arnold & Porter has an opening for a Professional Development Coordinator in the New York office.  The Professional Development Coordinator handles a variety of responsibilities related to the coordination of in-house training programs and firmwide retreats as well as provides support as needed for the associate development process.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in the coordination of in-house training programs.
  • Developing evaluations and managing follow up for in-house training programs.
  • Collecting, organizing, and maintaining CLE applications and course materials for in-house training programs.
  • Providing logistical support for Professional Development trainings and retreats, including room reservations, catering, and in-person set-up as needed.
  • Assisting with the maintenance of and updates to internal Professional Development websites and online systems, including Arnold & Porter University.
  • Developing internal marketing emails for the Professional Development Department.
  • Updating the firmwide training calendar to include all in-house training programs.
  • Coordinating the collection and analysis of feedback from in-house training programs and recommending improvements based on feedback.

Qualifications:

  • Four-year college degree or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience with legal professional development and CLE accreditation rules and requirements is a plus.  
  • Minimum of two years of office experience.
  • Experience in a law firm, corporate or professional environment preferred.
  • Proficiency in Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite and/or related software.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high degree of trustworthiness in handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Proven reliability, dependability, and motivation.
  • Excellent organization and communications skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while exhibiting a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously.
  • Exceptional client service.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours, as necessary.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $68,880 to $78,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

As a nonexempt position, this position is eligible for overtime.

The firm may provide a discretionary bonus annually.
