Preston Smith focuses his practice on litigation matters. He came to the firm with a wealth of experience as both a clerk and an intern. Mr. Smith served as a law clerk for The Honorable Gerald Bruce Lee of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, for the Honorable Rhoda Reid Winston of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, and with the US Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia. He was also an intern in the Criminal Division of the US Department of Justice, the US District Court for the District of Columbia, the US House of Representatives Financial Services Committee, and the Durham Country District Attorney's Office.

Mr. Smith graduated, cum laude, from the American University Washington College of Law, and he obtained a BS from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
