Loreli (Lori) Wright

Senior Associate

Lori Wright is a healthcare regulatory attorney who advises health systems, hospitals, physician enterprises, ambulatory surgery centers, specialty pharmacies, infusion providers, long-term care providers, life sciences companies expanding into direct-to-patient care, and healthcare investors on the regulatory issues that arise when providers expand, contract, or transact business. She is a trusted resource for general counsel, compliance officers, and business leaders navigating federal and state healthcare fraud and abuse law, provider contracting, and healthcare regulatory diligence, and she is regularly embedded in client teams as they work through the legal and operational considerations of a deal or a new business line in real time.

A primary focus of Lori's practice is compliance with the Anti-Kickback Statute, the Physician Self-Referral Law (Stark Law), and the False Claims Act. She counsels providers on physician compensation arrangements, medical director and call coverage agreements, space and equipment arrangements, and other referral-source relationships, with particular attention to fair market value and commercial reasonableness. She has built and managed high-volume physician contracting review workflows for large health systems, including escalation protocols for higher-risk arrangements, allowing clients to move contracts through legal review efficiently without sacrificing Stark and AKS rigor. Lori also regularly advises on healthcare licensure and certification, corporate practice of medicine restrictions, Medicare and Medicaid program participation, and telehealth and telemedicine, and she supports buy-side and sell-side regulatory diligence in healthcare services transactions. She brings this same provider-side regulatory grounding to pharmaceutical and life sciences companies building or scaling telehealth platforms and pharmacy partnership models.

Within her physician enterprise practice, Lori has particular depth advising ophthalmology practices, ASCs, and their private equity and management services organization investors on corporate practice of medicine compliance, ASC ownership structures, Stark Law compliance, buy-and-bill and gainsharing arrangements, and Medicare and payor risk. She speaks and writes regularly on these issues.
