Distressed Debt Market Outlook Panel Discussion

The firm hosted a panel discussion on February 11 in conjunction with the release of its 2015 North American Distressed Debt Market Outlook, a special report created in collaboration with research and media partner Debtwire. The report analyzes the complex factors driving the North American distressed debt market in 2015 and beyond, and discusses the myriad considerations confronting investors as the market continues to change.

The 90-minute panel discussion focused on key areas in the report, such as the future of the oil and gas industry and its impact on distressed investment opportunities, as well as unique legal structures in the energy sector generally; developments involving the application of the Trust Indenture Act to the Caesars and Educational Management restructuring; and potential changes in the Bankruptcy Code following reform recommendations by the ABI Commission.

In addition to Bankruptcy and Restructuring partners Benjamin Mintz and Stephen Rutenberg, the panel included Citigroup's Peter Hall, Debtwire's Andrew Ragsly, and River Birch Capital's Jim Seery.
