Investor-Side Investment Treaty Arbitration

Although we have especially broad experience defending states, we also represent foreign investors, and have done so with considerable success. Our experience representing both claimants and respondents enables us in a given case to understand more readily the other side's strengths and weaknesses, and thus to identify winning arguments for our clients.

In recent years, we have represented investors from Austria, Chile, France, Greece, Luxembourg, Turkey, and the United States (among others) in investment arbitrations against sovereign states around the world, and have obtained awards and settlements for hundreds of millions of dollars.

Our team has extensive experience arbitrating disputes under different arbitral rules and in a broad range of industries, including banking, construction, energy, finance, government concessions, intellectual property licensing, mining, transportation, and telecommunications.

"The firm has brought home some large awards for claimants in investor-state cases." –Global Arbitration Review "GAR 100" 2020
"This is a solid team for bet-the-company international arbitration matters without breaking the bank. Their strengths lie in analyzing the case, understanding the business objectives, and delivering top written and oral advocacy for their client." –Chambers USA 2020
