Arnold & Porter Advises Komatsu Ltd. in Its $2.9B Mining Industry Acquisition of Joy Global

Washington, D.C., July 22, 2016 -- Arnold & Porter LLP represented Japanese mining equipment and industrial machinery manufacturer, Komatsu Ltd., in its entry into a definitive agreement to acquire high-productivity mining equipment company, Joy Global.  Under the agreement, Komatsu America Corp., a subsidiary of Komatsu Ltd., will acquire Milwaukee's Joy Global in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $2.9 billion in equity value. The transaction is subject to customary shareholder and regulatory approval requirements.
