Arnold & Porter Announces the Election of Eight New Partners, Four New Counsel

WASHINGTON, DC, February 1, 2018 — Arnold & Porter today announced the election of eight new partners and four new counsel.  Effective February 1, the following eight lawyers have been named partner: Sean M. Callagy, Dina M. Hayes, Scott Levine, Paula Ramer, Jason A. Ross, Mallory B. Silberman, Rosemary Szanyi, and Colin Tan. The firm also named four new counsel: Matthew T. Fornataro, Carlos A. Pelaez, Ewan Townsend, and Brian Witkowski.

Partners

Sean M. Callagy is a member of the Intellectual Property practice, based in the San Francisco office. He earned his JD from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law and received his BA, with high honors, Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California, Berkeley. He clerked for Judge Harold DeMoss, Jr. of the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and Judge Micaela Alvarez of the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas (Laredo Division).

Dina M. Hayes is a member of the Intellectual Property practice, resident in the Chicago office. She earned her JD from DePaul University College of Law and received her BS in Biology from the College of William & Mary. She clerked for Judge Philip G. Reinhard of the US District Court, Northern District of Illinois.

Scott Levine, a member of the Real Estate practice, is resident in the New York office. He earned his JD from Fordham University School of Law, where he was a member of the Urban Law Journal. He received his BA, with distinction, Phi Beta Kappa, from Cornell University.

Paula Ramer, a member of the White Collar Defense practice, is based in the New York office. She earned her JD from Georgetown University Law Center and received her BA from Tufts University, magna cum laude.

Jason A. Ross is a member of the Product Liability Litigation practice, based in the Washington, DC office. He earned his JD from the Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, cum laude. He received his BS from Northwestern University.

Mallory B. Silberman is a member of the International Arbitration practice, resident in Washington, DC. She earned her JD from the University of North Carolina School of Law, with honors, and received her BA from Syracuse University, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa.

Rosemary Szanyi, a member of the Litigation practice, resident in the Washington, DC office. She earned her JD from Harvard Law School, cum laude, and received her BA from Williams College, summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa.

Colin Tan, a member of the Corporate & Finance practice, is based in the London office. He received his BA from the University of Cambridge, with honors.

Counsel

Matthew T. Fornataro is a member of the Life Sciences and Healthcare Regulatory practice, resident in the Washington, DC office. He earned his JD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, and received his BA from Bucknell University, magna cum laude with honors in English.

Carlos A. Pelaez, a member of the Corporate & Finance practice, is resident in the Washington, DC office. He earned his JD from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, and received his BA from the University of Chicago.

Ewan Townsend is a member of the Corporate & Finance practice, based in the London office. He has an MA in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University and completed the graduate diploma in law and legal practice course, with distinction, at BPP Law School. He also has a Post-Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice from Bristol University.

Brian Witkowski, a member of the Compensation and Benefits practice, resides in the Chicago office. He earned his JD from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, magna cum laude, and received his BA from Northwestern University.
