Coronavirus: Emerging Challenges
The coronavirus outbreak has created new and unprecedented challenges for institutions of every size around the world, and the leaders, employees, customers, vendors, and regulators of those institutions face complicated legal issues requiring the exercise of judgment, knowledge and experience. To guide our clients through this crisis, Arnold & Porter has established a multidisciplinary Task Force with the crisis management, regulatory, litigation and transactional expertise necessary to plan for and navigate the impact of this pandemic. We are counseling clients on a wide range of legal and crisis management issues including labor and employment; workplace safety and employee benefits; supply chain interruptions and underperformance; force majeure contract clauses; privacy; government contracts and national security; corporate governance and SEC disclosure; life sciences regulation, IP and litigation; legislation and appropriations; bankruptcy and restructuring; environmental impact; trade; and international arbitration.
Our Task Force combines the experience of former senior government officials with the expertise of highly ranked practitioners across the US, Asia and Europe, and is well positioned to offer counsel that incorporates legal and public policy advice across a wide range of impacted industries.
Our Task Force is co-chaired by Paul Fishman and Kristin Hicks. Mr. Fishman, former United States Attorney for the District of New Jersey from 2009 through 2017, leads the firm's Crisis Management and Strategic Response practice. Ms. Hicks is a partner in our Life Sciences and Healthcare Regulatory group focusing on the intersection of regulatory and government contracting issues.
